KABUL Afghan people use the programs broadcast by the Islamic Republic of Iran's Broadcasting (IRIB) to get first hand information on the important global events.

Some Afghans interviewed by IRNA said that if they do not use the IRIB programs they will not be kept abreast of the latest news worldwide.

A citizen of Kabul said Afghan Radio, TV and press carry just a few domestic news and events, especially officials' meetings and reports on sessions of interim Afghan government.

Mohammad Samadi, the communications expert residing in Kabul, said Afghan people follow news through Iranian Radio and TV via satellite.
